CONFOLENS is situated on the banks of the river Vienne in theCHARENTE region... a land of oak and granite, filled with rivers and wooded valleys. This is an area of outstanding natural beauty....a photographers or artists dream. The climate in this region is second only to the South of France. There many walks and cycle rides through miles of unspoilt countryside.
Pont Vieux Chambre d'hote is located at the end of a 15th century bridge with direct acess to the river. The gardens are situated in a tranquil beautiful park-like area yet 2 minutes walk from the town centre... Medievil houses in cobbled streets.... a fountain... an art gallery... this is the Fontorse. Pont Vieux is in the heart of the oldest part of the town steeped in history.
The Charente region boasts a diverse unspoilt countryside and a good climate.

We have also a fantastic seperate kitchen for all our guests to use for making tea and coffee or even meals. The kitchen is fully equipped with cooker, utensils ect. If you fancy a night in it's possible to cook a meal and eat on the lovely terrace, down by the river or in one of the many secluded spots the garden has to offer. This kitchen is seperate from the kitchen or terrace where breakfast is served.
